Winemaker, Kowie du Toit, studied winemaking at Elsenburg before starting his career as young winemaker at Simonsvlei. He then moved over to Vlottenburg Cellar, now Stellenbosch Hills, where he started as winemaker and was soon promoted to Cellar Manager. He was Cellar Manager for 30 years before he decided to start producing wine for smaller wineries on a consultant basis. In 2007, this lead to a new chapter as winemaker for Freedom Hill Vineyards.

With over 30 years’ experience in the wine industry, Viticulturist, Paul Wallace, studied viticulture at Elsenburg Agricultural College and then joined the Distell team as a wine and grape buyer and viticulturist. For the past 16 years he has been freelancing and has been a part of the Freedom Hill winemaking team since 2010.
